Why? The car came with one that looks good, sounds good, works really well, and will probably last longer than you'll own the car.

Don't want to be THAT guy, but your post really didn't contribute anything either. He asked for opinions on a specific exhaust and you answered a completely different question? Solid move my friend

Power gains, sound, weight reduction, better looking. Just to name a few.

Greddy is a quality company and brand; the RS isn't my taste but if it's what you want, go for it.

It does MSRP at ~$1,350 new though... with minimal hp gains on its own paired with a tune... It would be more of a personal preference/aesthetic choice IMHO

Do you plan on going FI in the near future? True-dual would be preferable then, especially with an HR TT setup.

Just curious what your goals are with your Z, I feel like that money could be better spent on suspension. Just a thought

I don't plan on going fi at the moment at least not until after I graduate. I'm not buying coilovers anytime soon since I dd my z and pa roads are complete ****. My plan is just to make 300whp with bolt ons and a tune for now. I want to go with greddy because of 1) quality brand and won't be a ricer. 2) I always dreamed of having a z with the dual exhaust canisters. 3) It looks really cool lol.

No offense but dual canisters/coffee cans are commonly considered "ricer", just as a single canister is.

The thing is, who cares if it is? It's your Z, if you want to Greddy RS as part of your initial bolt-on modifications and have the means to buy it, just do it. The RS paired with Injen/Stillen CAI, hell even JWT Pop-chargers/K&N drop-in's and test pipes should help you reach your 300hp with a proper UpRev Tune

Next time you post a thread, ask yourself if you really need to. You asked for opinions and that is what you got. You know that Greddy is quality and you have basically already made up your mind that you want it.. So there really wasn't a point in this thread from your first statement, except asking for the best deal which you could easily do by PMing vendors directly and price-matching.

Again no offense meant, just some advice.

Your right I posted to get opinions and I haven't complained about any opinions I've gotten. I want input so I ask questions. Thats how a forum works.

I have never met anyone who considered true dual ricey. Stuff like the invidia, apexi and topspeed look ricey.

No offense to you either cause you helped but was typing that really worth your time?

Yeah, helping people is worth my time. I remember your New Owners thread with your rare-ish DB HR Z and I'd rather spend the couple minutes it takes to post than watch you fall into the young new owners' trap that many ~18 year old's do nowadays... I see their failures daily on Facebook.. blatantly ruining their Z's.

Anyways, good luck hunting for that exhaust. I've found most of my parts from the classifieds here and met some quality enthusiasts, hope you have the same experience.

I'm 21 years old and trust me my car is going to be done right. Hence why I'm about to spend 1k+ on exhaust.

Good to hear

You should also start a progress thread in "Media Share" once you get the ball rolling.

Just expressing an opinion and giving useful advice. I have often wished someone had told me something similar when I was younger.

If I hadn't wasted so much money on useless crap, I would have been able to retire at 40 instead of having to wait until I was 46.

At 21 spending 1k on and exhaust are you still living at home? if you are true word of advice save your money. While its cool to have a modded Z, its cooler to have a Z period at your age with 1k in the bank. I would chill until a couple years after you graduate and have a great job going before you start dropping 1k+ on anything that is remotely pure fun. you will see what i mean when the Dept of education comes knocking at the door and tells you im taking 15%

^^ agreed

I dumped the vast majority of my savings into a car when I was 20/21. Yeah, it did well in car shows, was fast and turned a lot of heads. However, if I would have put that money into a house, it'd probably be about paid off by now (10 years later).

Yes I live at home. I am lucky enough that my dad pays for my tuition and I have a really good part-time job doing sales at T-Mobile that I could live off of if I had to. i am an engineering major and already have a job lined up so I am in a really good position. My dad has also been a car enthusiast his whole life so he is okay with me spending money on my car.

Why don't you save money on better things. Like graduate school or better yet a house?

21 is still young and $1,000 is a lot of money to spend on noise makers. That being said, graduate, get a real job and then don't feel bad dropping change on Motordyne parts if you want to do it "right".
