75mm TB (review) and intake hose - MAF housing diameter.
I came across a 2010 Maxima throttle body for free and decided to try it. While waiting for the NWP adapter plate to arrive I fabricated the harness patch.
Install was very easy, I also decided to bypass the coolant through the TB by connecting the two coolant lines with a 1/4" barb/barb fitting. Stretching the oem hose back on the TB was a b**** and thought that a 3.5" hose and a 3.5" maf housing would be more logical.
I reset all the fuel trims and data on the ecu before starting the car. The idle initially was high around 1200 and slowly settled to 800. Went for a drive and didn't feel noticeable gains but I was surprised about how improved is the throttle response, through the whole rpm scale. Overall it's an improvement to the oem smaller throttle body.
From what I can tell the 5/16 spacer and the hfc were clearly much bigger improvements in terms of tq/hp rather than the updated TB but I'm thinking there's more to gain if the intake hose AND maf housing were 3" or 3.5". Anyone can confirm?
I'm thinking of silicone hoses, a bigger maf housing and my 06 airbox rather than going for a 3" metal CAI probably more subject to heatsoak.
