So my current knowledge is mostly based off this article. http://speed.academy/infiniti-g35-bo...ers-nissan-vq/
To sum it up this guy took an 06 G35 and dyno'd the car after every upgrade. Below is the results he got. I'm not sure if he retuned at any point or not.
So I'm toying around with the idea of doing most of these mods, thinking of skipping the headers though. If the gains from the article are realistic, that should put me up about 35 whp and 33 wtq. My goal is to achieve a better sound and noticeable power gain. This is a daily driver, don't see myself going to forced induction any time soon. So now... the questions.
Are these realistic expectations and would I need to get it tuned to see these gains?
Are most brand name alternatives (Borla, Greddy, Injen, K&N, etc) going to provide similar power, or is Stillen the cat's meow? Are there better options than Stillen (other than for sound)?
Are there any other mods that would be must haves at this point?
Are there any downsides to doing these mods? Loss of mpg, shorten engine life, etc.
^(all)...
I could see it, if the car was tuned after each bolt on...
Isnt On Point Dyno Sasha's shop? and if there is anyone that can squeeze NA hp out of a VQ it'd be him...
(alright everyone jump my ****)
OP,
dont expect those gains without a tuning solutions and spending hours on a dyno, red-line'ing the **** out of your engine...
if you do all the mods you're talking about without a custom dyno tune, expect to gain 7 whp...
I like Stillen's stuff, expensive and heavy... the stillen true dual is ~90 lbs ... where the OEM is 45-ish?? so an additional 45lbs of weight will soak up that extra wheel horsepower and you'll feel nothing...
