Default Manifold cutoff

I've been driving around with the Invidia Gemini exhaust on my car. I love it but wish it was louder. I'm wondering if I cut the manifold out and welded pipes on its place, would it sound better or like ****? I currently have Stillen headers, and Berk test pipes connected to the exhaust. Thanks in advance for the info.

so you want to jimmy rig it to be loud... got it. get rid of the gemini, its a pretty tame exhaust, and get the motordyne tdx2. have a feeling you wont spent the money though

Why not take the muffler off and see if you like the sound? If you do then get some exhaust flanges and take it to a shop, instead of hacking up the exhaust and you can always go back as well.

well the manifold sits right under the bumper and the exhaust tips come out of there. I'm just wondering if it woulg be cheaper replacing with pipes or just going with a new exhaust. I guess I could drop out the manifold and see what it sounds like. I think the missing tips would drive me nuts and look tacky though.

I think you're confusing the words "manifold" and "muffler", but now I get what you want to do. You could have an exhaust shop fabricate a couple of pipes, with the tips of your choice, and it could look very similar. As for sound, I can't say, but it might not be better, just louder.

Straight pipe and be done with it.

Cheap. Loud. Easy.

Just don't get mad when people roll their eyes when you come by.
