There is always some play in the joints to allow adjustment. So, get back under there, loosen all the connections just enough to allow movement, and get things in proper alignment before tightening all the fasteners again.

There isnt a ton of room under these cars, especially with 3" piping and being relatively low.

Also some manufacturers will build their exhausts and manufacturing jigs with a relatively loose tolerance/fit against the bottom of the car to avoid possible fitment problems when mix matched with other manufacturers components or just to take into account their own manufacturing tolerances.

Its much easier to hang the exhaust lower and give yourself an extra 3/8" than it is to hold tighter tolerances or deal with customers possibly complaining because their exhaust is hitting the subframe/chassis/etc.

Not sure if it even fits this way but could the mid-pipe be upside down creating a weird angle and lower hanging positioning. Memory tells me that's not possible due to the angle to the rear muff junction but.... who's to say? Been a while since I was under there.

- Also, when you're ready, you're going to want to tighten the system down from the front -----> back. Just my .
