Default Big Day...Custom Exhaust - True Dual, HKS

Today i FINALLY got my exhaust completed. I had been planning it for a few weeks now and I do not regret any of it. I chose to use 2 HKS Carbon/Ti mufflers (4" outlet, 3" inlet) and had a local exhaust shop create a full underbody true dual exhaust, much like the stillen (X pipe, 2.5" piping all around) but it is straighter, for it does not bend towards the back to hide the mufflers for the stock look. I had to remove part of the heat shield surrounding the emissions box on the passengers side by the exhaust outlet in order to fit a full size canister. Luckily i chose to get the Carbon fiber wrapped muffler, which reduces heat significantly. I think i will also heat wrap the gas lines that run close by.

This exhaust is not for the faint of heart! It is LOUD! No resonators, no silencers, 2 huge mufflers with a true dual setup. It doesn't really sound "ricey" in my opinion, or my friend's opinion. But it just growls and vibrates everything. It is a little raspy when revved at a stand still, but on the move it sounds sweet! My friend was trailing me on the way home, he said the only sound it compares to would be a supra mixed with a ferrari.

Here are some pics (please excuse the bad quality of dark pictures and the also the dirt, its been raining here and i havn't washed her lately), i plan on doing a video soon, but i do not have a camera, if anyone in the sacramento area has one and would like to film me give me a PM. If you are interested in the cost of this set up PM me also, it really is not as costly as it seems, less than buying the stillen set up.

I hope to dyno soon, plan on getting hi-flo cats or plenum and crank pully soon.

i didnt leave that out, i wrote that i want to dyno soon, but basically i am going to wait for hi flo cats or plenum, and im getting a crank pully for sure. I don't have a lot of money to be throwing around to dyno after every mod.

I was waiting on someone to do a dual set-up with the Carbon-Ti silencers. Looks great.

Nice job! Going N/A I think a bit too crazy. But for F/I, that would be good.

I will hopefully turbo in the next couple years. I was planning on doing something that would up my HP for NA but at the same time be compatible with a F/I setup, which i believe i achieved.

Today i espcially felt the car pulling harder. I will be driving and all of a sudden realize "Holy Shiet, im going XX mph" when i would assuming i would be going a lot less. The RPMs seemed to be high all the time, even in traffic when i was driving slow. I just really noticed that i would accidentally be driving at higher RPMs than expected or going a lot faster than expected.

Btw, hope to get a friend to video me saturday. Anyone want to volunteer to host the vid? Also i bought 100oct gas today, is it usually $7 a gallon?

It's 6 bucks at the track or at Tognottatis but you have to buy a 5 gallon can for 20 bucks plus tax at Tognottis. Someone told me there is a 76 in Lincoln on I65 that sells 100 out of the pump, I have to go look into that.

Well then i actually got a decent deal. I bought 100 at 76 down the street (literally 2 minutes away) and it was a 5 gallon can filled for $35. Thats pretty good compared to paying $20 for the can. I also learned that this 76 has 110. My friend has the sickest '65 mustang gt350 non fuel injected, so hopefully hell buy a can and try to feel the difference.

Please, correct me if the information i was told is wrong.
100 octane = unleaded, only good for fuel injected cars
110 octane= leaded, good for non fuel injected (usually older) cars.
