Default Titanium Exhaust

Tako, Not to pry but why are you auctioning the exhaust? It's pretty rare and looks really nice on your car.

To the community, how much do lightweight exhausts cost usually (on any type of car)?

A titanium exhaust for celica weighs 8 lbs by veilside

I'm guess this one for the Z weighs about 12-15 lbs.

If it's the same one shown here http://www.nismo.com/NissanParts/Fai...33/Muffler.htm , it's 11 kg. or 24.251 lbs.

I don't know about the rest of you but for $3K I want the thing to weigh almost nothing but most of all I want it to give me a hell of a lot of power, say around 30-50HP and not just look good, I'll put my 3K in savings and get a head start on saving for the Twin Turbo.

24 lbs seems like an awful lot of weight... for a titanium over $3k exhaust

10% of the price of the car seems really high for an exhaust system

I have to agree with westpak, 3k is too much for an exhaust system that will produce few horse power. Save that money for a turbo or supercharger or a great sound system. just my 2 cent

gimme some more time, guys, I need to break in the exhaust. Fujitsubo told me to do it, so for their honer, I didn't put the dyno right after the mod.
They claimed few more horse powers gain. Let's see. Anyway, with the G force 0-60 tests, it was faster, of course... it's 20 pounds lighter. I haven't driven that much after the mod, I say only few hundred miles or so, so let me put more miles then I take it to the dyno again.

After I changed the exhaust, the car run smoother (I think it's because of better flow) and sounds better. The vibe u feel from your back is much better.

If you guys want, I will give you a ride, if you live in Bay Area.....

BTW, even if other company sells the same thing in for like 2200 bucks, air shipping costs 500-700 bucks and tax. If you don't use air, it's cheaper but it takes 3-4 weeks. FYI.

Tako. Can you upload a sound file of the tit. exhaust? So that everyone on the board will have a chance to hear it. Thank you.

Have some one do it... hehe I am coming to the MY350Z.COM dinner in Palo Alto next week, as I said at another thread, so if you ask someone with video camera to do it, you will get sound file

How much of a speed difference does 20 lbs make? That's less than 1/100 of the car's wt. Actually, a lot less than 1/100, which would be true for a 2000 lbs car, which the Z is not. That would mean that the same car being driven by a 180 lb guy vs a 160 lb guy would have acceleration numbers significantly different enough to be picked up by either a G-Force or by a seat-of-the-pants judgement.

This seems impossible, the power/wt. ratio does not change enough for that small of a wt. loss. Now, if we were talking 200 lbs, that would probably be significant.

Any thoughts?

$3000 is a lot for an exhaust, but if you want exclusivity, here's your toy.

ROFL good luck getting ANYTHING to give you over 10hp without spending at least $1000.

I don't know what your point is but mine was that I don't mind spending the 3K but for an exhaust!! specially one that no one can tell how much HP you are going to get and based on your equation you would expect to get 30 HP for the 3K which is what I said.
