Default kinetix or random tech?

After doing a search about high flow cats, i could not find a tread that discusses the differences between the two and the pros and cons. So what are the pros of cons of having each? And which one should i get? Thanks in advance.

The difference is probably non-existant so its really just preference to which cat you buy.

The R/T Cats are known for giving off a raspy sound. I had them on for a day and took them off, b/c i didn't like the sound at all. Several others have said the same thing. I would probably go with Crawford, good performance gains and very little change of the exhaust sound. just my 2c

I agree with maserom. After doing the research, I am getting a set of Crawford High Flow Cats. There workmanship is second to none, they flow very well, and are priced right.

I think I remember a post where both Crawford and Kinetix both said that the R/T's flow better. However, they would never pass a visual inspection and have a much louder sound not to mention the cost.

I can only speak from my experience with the R/T's.

No raspyness at all ( I do have stock exhaust still)
Excellent quality.
No fitment problems at all (installed them myself)

Do you have any advice for running forced induction with the RT cats? Seems I heard some posts that say the RTs may cause you to run a little lean if you also have a super charger. I can't quite remember the exact wording of the post, but it was something like you have to relocate the O2 sensors with the RTs and that complicates the A/F tuning wtih forced induction. I would like to run headers, exhaust and the RTs with forced induction Any thoughts?

I don't have enough info to tell you one way or the other as far as lean or not with FI and the RT's. Sorry.

You probably want to to some more probing in the FI forum, I was in there a few days ago and was impressed with the amount of great info poeple have collected

Personally I really like the RT cats. I've heard a bunch of Z's with
different cats and to me the RT's have the most aggressive sound. They are very loud.

Does Kinetix and crowford have a raspiness?
So is the R/T cats only have the Raspiness on certain car or just for the car that have aftermarket exhaust?

My question is will the RT's pass a visual inspection? I think that the Kinetix/Crawfords look a biut more stock I guess you oculd say compared to the RT's. Minus the missing cat on all of them of course.

So people with each, pass visual?

Don't know if it's the same design as these, but many Maxima owners have had bad experiences with R/T cats, myself included. The "honeycomb" material on the inside of mine began to break apart after only a few weeks of usage.

My vote is Kinetix cats, but then again I have a set sitting on the kitchen table. They will be installed today.

I cannot comment YET on how they run, but you should see the weld quality. It is amazing. I almost feel like hanging them on my wall as artwork. Well, almost.

How did you find out that it was breaking apart?
