Question Cold Air Intake Options

Hi All.

So my first performance upgrade (ever) to an automobile is about to get underway. I would like to add a Cold Air Intake to my 350 base coupe, and wanted to get a few things answered.

1. Which kit would you recommend?
- AEM
- Injen
- K&N
- Nismo
- Stillen

..It seems as though the AEM kit would be the easiest install. I would like keep the wrench time/work basic. I know that for some kits (Injen) you cannot do the install w/o removing the front bumper.

2. Any tricks, tips I should know before beginning.

3. What next steps to boost performance can I look into that are along the same install level (perhaps grounding kit, chip)?

Thanks,

As of right now AEM looks to be the easiest

Yeah, you should add JWT Pop Charger to the list. It's not "technically" a CAI... but it's better.

Ditto! JWT Pop Charger. It would probably win if it was on the list.

Sorry to ask something that has most likely already been answered, but since the Search feature is not working right now, I have to ask:

Will installing a JWT intake null the warranty out?

Popcharger.

As far as warranty, ask your dealer. Some will warranty cars with mods, some won't. Even if we tell you one thing, the dealer may tell you another. They are individual entities. Ask them if they will warranty a car with an aftermarket air filter. If they won't, ask another one. They may have different answers.

Well, it "shouldn't", but the best person to ask would be the dealership you bought the car from.

Jwt has more proven gains than Injen CAI? I'm still deciding which to go with, but everyone has seemed to favor JWT Popcharger. I read on UltimateZ.com that injen had the most gains in HP, but a few people here have claimed that JWT has most power gains if any gains. Does anyone have any real proof? There has to be some reason that the CAI is $150 more! Any factual proof would be appreciated, otherwise it just sounds like preference!
