Default K & N Air Filter and Borla Exhaust

The search engine is obviously broken so pardon my redundancy. A friend of mind swears he has seen an increase in HP from a K & N filter of least 5. He also has installed Borla exhaust and swears he is getting another 20 HP from it. I am not qualified to say it is a bunch of BS but it sure sounds like it. He has nothing to back is claims other than hearsay and the butt dyno.

Any thoughts on the validity of his claims...........

Maybe he put all of the K&N and Borla stickers on his car during the install... Everyone knows stickers are good for 10hp...

5 Sounds like a lot for just K&N but there have been dyno sheets on here showing 23.5 RWHP gains with the borla, so that isn't so crazy...

Id say 10-15 HP max from the K&N and Borla sounds realistic.
