With girls out numbering guys in Japan, its really easy to find date the hot ones, especially if your American.

I'm at work and only have my reject B&W photos on this computer, but I dated the chic on the left for a few weeks. Only because she had a Lucy Lui look to her, other then that I couldnt stand her, plus her friend on the right is a major b!tch. (we were going to a formal event in Kyoto, hence her kimono)

日本国 was used in feudal Japan, when referring to the entirety of Japan including some of the unclaimed islands which where under no direct ruling of any shoguns. Other wise simply using 日本 would only assume lands controlled by shoguns (mostly the mainland)

Japan assumed they own the islands rather then say Korea or Taiwan, due to the legend how the a gods dunked their sword in the ocean and the droplets that dripped of the sword after it was removed created the lands.

国 simply comes out as country or ancient with(or just "entirety" with the Japanese language assuming the whole meaning as "entirety of the ancient land")

Technically 日本国 refers to Nihon-koku=Japan-Ancient, however its directly translates to Nihon (Japan)

In the end 日本国 and 日本 are the same you only see 日本国 used in plays like Kabuki and certain aspect of history. In fact in Kyoto you will see many temples with 日本国

Now of days only 日本 should be used.


I cant claim to be 100% right, but for the most part it is. I only know this as part of my job, since I come across this from time to time.
