Default advice NEEDED: interior noise increased after window tints installed

I got my windows tinted about a week and a half ago. the tint job looks amazing... very good work. but the other day, while i was switching cds and for once there was no music in the car.... i noticed that there was alot more noise in the interior before. it sounds like the windows are not fitted correctly, and there is a tiny gap in them which is allowing for wind to travel into the car when im flying down the highway. what should i do? should i goto the nissan dealership and have them take care of it? or should i go back to the guy who tinted my windows and have him take care of it? advice needed!

Not much the tint guy can do for you, unless he removed the door panels to tint the windows (which I highly doubt). The noise was probably there before the tint install and you never noticed it, or it could just be a common noise. By the way, if you own a Roadster, disregard everything I just said cause wind noise in Roadsters are common given the soft rag tops they have.

By gap, do you mean your window isnt actually rolling up all they way??? If thats the case then most likely the tint guy might've forgotten to turn the switch back on for the window roll up. I know in my Audi a few years ago, the tint guy flipped a switch on the side of the door to disable the window drop feature so that he could tint the entire window and not have that little gap at the bottom.

Im not sure if our Zs are equipped with such a switch like the Audi, but the Z has the same feature that when you open your door the window should slide down and then when you close the door the window slides back up. Usually if the car is equipped with this feature, the tint person needs to have window in the full up position to tint the entire window. And since the Z has no frame on top of the window, the windows are usually tinted with the doors open. Hence, unless the automatic window up/down feature is disabled, they cant tint the cars with the doors open.

I know this post may sound confusing and PM me if you have any questions, but that might be your culprit if you are telling me that there is a gap present now after getting your tint done. Basically, just go to your car after reading this and open your door. See if the window drops about an 1/8th of an inch, and then close the door and see if the window goes back up to fully seal the car. My money is on the fact that your windows will not drop when you open the door and all you gotta do is find out how to enable the feature back on. (Fuse or switch most likely)

That sounds like exactly the problem he is having. Good luck.
