Procedure when fixing problem with TSB
I am bringing in my car for a fix on the rear hatch not poping up.
It has a TSB.
My questions are:
1. Does a TSB problem mean its a manufacturer flaw that they must be fixed?
2. Do I have to pay out of my own pocket to get this problem fixed?
3. Do you have to pay for a rental car while its being fixed?
4. Since there are other TSBs for my 2003 model, can I have them fix all of them, even if the problem doesnt exist?
5. If its free, is there a deadline to when I can get a TSB fixed?
Thanks for your help, im a new Z (used) owner.

1) Basically, if the problem is there and a TSB has been issued, the dealer should fix it for you free of charge.
2) No.
3) I do not believe any dealer is obligated to pay for a rental or give you a loaner. Some choose to do it as a good will gesture but they aren't required to. You may want to ask them and they might offer you a loaner.
4) If the problem doesn't exist, then they can't fix it.
5) Different TSBs have different deadlines. For example, the tire feathering TSB (the tire flip and eventually the tire replacement TSB) has a deadline both in time and in mileage. Others are different. You'll have to ask the dealer or better yet, Nissan itself.
