Have a really weird wiper problem that started yesterday, want to see if anyone else has experenced this. Every once in awhile, out of the blue, the front wipers will make one sweep. Could be while driving, while waiting at a traffic light, or when you first start the car. Has anyone else had this problem ?

 

I work at a wiper system supplier. What you describe is called a "phantom wipe". It happens because of a bug in the programming logic of the wiper motor controller. I don't work on the electronics so I can't tell you more but this would be specific to the 350z wiper motor. Something triggers it to think that it need to cycle. I heard about it on other cars but not on the 350Z. Depending on how often/anoying it is, you can get the dealer to look at it but it's not something they can troubleshoot. They can only change the parts one by one. Then again, if the problem in known, they may have a fix. Good luck.
