Default Creaking and squeeking in hatch area

Has anyone found how to stop the creaking and squeeking noises that occur in the hatch area of the Z. It has gotten louder with time and is annoying as h#ll. I can now hear it over my radio and it it persistant. Do you think some dyno mat around the bottom of the hatch area will work?

It might be the styrofoam that holds your jack and what not in the rear, check it out.

I had a loose fastener between the plastic cover and the rear glass of the hatch ...made a squeaking noise...you might want to check it out.

If you open the hatch all the way and then press up on the plastic cover/liner you may be able to duplicate the noise if that's where it's coming from. Mine was coming from somewhere under that plastic piece. I didn't fix it myself... took it to the dealer and they fixed it in about 10 minutes.

Other people have had noises coming from the rear strut brace area. I would suggest you put someone small in the rear and then drive around so they can locate the source.

Good Luck
