How did you install it? You did use a wiring harness and didn't cut directly into the OEM wiring right? Anyways since the 350Z has a dimmer wire in the harness I would say that that is the cause as it is there to tell the headunit to dim its lights when you turn on the lights. If that is hooked up improperly something like what you have described could happen.

That would be my guess too. Trust me, you want to use a harness and hopefully you did. I made the mistake of trying to hardwire my last headunit in my old car and it was a mess, haha.

There is another fuse box up under the cowl mounted to the firewall. So there is a total of three fuse boxes. You have to remove the plastic pieces around the battery to get to it. There are about ten plastic clips. There is a tail fuse in there I bet its blown. The fuse box nissan calls the IPDM.

Before replacing the fuse, recheck power connections carefully. For some odd reason, I even saw a spark when a ground wire touched a metal clip somewhere behind the dash. It was weird and completely unexpected. Nothing fried though :-)

Otherwise, you might end up blowing the fuse upon insertion. It's like holding a firecracker!
