holy **** that's true! That just happened to me last week. The last time it did that was over a year ago when it was hot, then it did it just yesterday again. I have an 04 roadster too. Could it be a bad fuse or something?
It's normal, and yes, happens a lot more to the roadster guys. If the sun hits directly on the tach, it heats up the glue/resin that holds the needle to the gauge, it expands so it's unable to move until it cools down again.
