when i was on my 3rd tranny, they told me the same thing. at the time i couldn't afford it and told them just to put it back on. that was almost one year ago and everything is fine.

My clutch looked nearly brand new when I replaced it at 28k miles. Our cars don't like to be driven soft. I drive mine hard and the guys that work on mine say its running better than most other ones. I guess there is a fine line between driving at its potential and abuse. This is also my first manual transmission. Might as well go with an upgraded and a lightweight flywheel.
