Have anybody just remove their plenum and just clean it? I never clean mine since I left the lot of the dealership and I have read how gunks are being build up in there. I guess my question is should I just remove the upper plenum one day and clean the inside of it. Feel free to give a suggestion. And don't tell me to use the search function because "cleaning plenum" open an entire pages about plenum and nothing about cleaning it
.

I just cleaned mine but only because I was removing the stock plenum to get it polished. I only have 13K miles so it wasn't that bad. There was definitely a oily film from the PCV recirculation.
In general, cleaning isn't required. I can imagine at 50, 75, 100K miles there would be a pretty good buildup that you might want to make a special effort to open and clean. Part of the problem is that you're not supposed to touch the butterfly in the throttle body. Eventually that's going to get gunked too and would need a cleaning.

I think I am coming near my 50k so I would imagine what sort of gunk I have build up. Thanks for the advice about the butterfly. I will take caution when I get to that part.
