I was trying to teach my wife to drive my Z. She put it in first and the clutch clanked and engine died. Normal sound..nothing unusual.

However, after this when she started the car at approx. 15 miles per hour the car started to buck and it felt like a slipping clutch.

I hopped in the car and when I got it up to around 15 MPH the car started to buck..I shifted into 2nd clutch engaged no problem but around 25 miles the car started to buck like a bronco again ..I shifted to 3rd and after it hit a higher MPH the same thing happened. There was definately a clutch burning smell going on.

I called my stealership and they said they would send over a tow truck. While I was waiting ( After approx. 30 minutes) I tried the car again and nothing.. 1st 2nd 3rd nothing went close to redline nothing.

They towed it off and the dealership tested it ...nothing. They said it was working fine???


Its a 2003 w/only 12k miles ( just bought it with approx 11800 miles).


They are going to test other things but anyone had this problem??? Any ideas???

 

no idea, but it happened to me once in 1st gear until i shifted to second and after that it never happened again.

Anyhow my car is still at the stealership...I told them they had to look further at it then drive it for 5 minutes and tell me its nothing.
It was not nothing!!! ....as I drove it everytime it reached a higher speed it tried to die as it grabed and bucked when I would shift to a higher gear I was good for 10 to 15 MPH faster but it would then grab start to buck and choke and try o die on me and after reading on it sounds like a grabbing more then a slipping.
