Default How Do I remove the Spoiler Struts?

I have a replica Nismo Spoiler and am going to replace the Spoiler Struts that hold the spoiler up so it does not crack my head any more. Yes, I have already removed the weight. I am going to either send my struts off to that guy in Canada to repair and strengthen them or I will by the $229 Nismo replacement ones.

My problem is HOW DO I REMOVE the Struts? There are 2 10mm bolts at the bottom end and I think a 12mm wrench at the top. Isn't there an easier way? I was able to remove the 2-10mm bolts but I cannot remove the 12mm at the top. Is the strut supposed to just POP off the nipple or is there another way. In looking at the end that I was able to get off with the piece that is connected to the end with teh 2 bolts go into. It does not look like these are suppoed to come off, is that the case?

Suggestions? Ideas?
