Default NEW Z Need help!!!

Hey guys,

This is my first post even tho i am a long time reader of these forums. I used to own an 03 z couple ended up trading it in bout a year and a half ago... missed it so much so i bought a 05 grand touring roadster brand new 2 weeks ago. Let me say first off this car is amazing and i am so glad to b back in the z family.

Here are my first two issues with the car....

1. When cruising in any gear i hear a squeeking almost as if somthing is rubbing against the rotors but when i brake it goes away. It is decently loud rubbing squeeking noise and is very annoying. it occurs when accelerating and when coasting.

2. from the rear driver side wheel well when car is sitting at a stand still there is some kind shhhhhh shhhh shh sound every few second like pressured air(its not coming from the tire) it does as long as the car is running ...

i just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on these before i bring the car to the dealership.... i did a search for noises and didnt really see anything that matched what i was hearing...

thanks so much for your help

don't know about the squeeking, but #2 sounds like an exhaust leak. take it back to the dealer and they should be able to find it. most likely its coming from the connection from your cat-back to mid-pipe.

to fix #1, try having the dealer check the hand brake.

Glad to have you back in the family! Now that you have owned both the coupe and the roadster, don't you think the the roadster is worth every extra cent?!

oh definatly loving the roadster....

ok so i was driving to take the car to the dealer this morn and noticed no more squeaking noise...?? of course the day im bringing it in the noise is gone ...they test drove it as well and couldnt duplicate he said since the car had been on the lot a while coulda still been rust wearing off the rotors?? hopefully that was just it well see if it comes back...

Now for the air noise he said he was not able to duplicate that either ... so i took him for a ride around the block came back got outa the car and had him now listen by the rear wheel wells and sure enought it was the (the compressed air sound) he heard it too....bring it back in puts it up on the lift and says doesnt see anything wrong. He gets a master tech to look and listen to the sound he says hasnt heard that before but thinks that is is just the suspension settling after the car is driven????? I dont recall my old 03 doing this so can anyone let me know if this sounds right or if theres does this when still running after its been driven???

thanks for any input
