When did they make a weird noise? While you were tightening them? Do you use any anti-seize compound on the threads to keep the aluminium lug nuts from binding on the steel studs?

Yes they make a good creeking noise when losening them up. I use them when I am at the track & torque them to 95 ftlbs. It's like they get semi stuck to my Volks. Seems to go away after a few more trips on & off the studs.

I found a Locktite Anti-seize stick at AutoZone. It looks like a glue stick.
