Trunk Release & Keyless entry prob??
Is anyone else having trouble getting the trunk opened?? I press the button on the remote and it opens but is much like opening your hood where you have to unlock it then pull on it while you hit the button again... what the hell? Maybe it is just mine but I normally have a hand full of crap to throw in the trunk and the damn thing won't open. Please let me know if this happens to everyone or it's something I can expect the dealer to fix. Also, the keyless entry doesn't always work for the passengers door. I usually press the unlock button twice out of habit although I don't know if it is necessary on my Z but about 1 of 10 times the passengers door doesn't unlock. When it doesn't unlock I can press the unlock button a 100 times with no success. Any ideas... does yours do this??

Do you have the same problem with the hatch when you press the release on the car? If so you may have something wrong with the release mechanism. As for the passanger door I have had some issue with that. Usually arming and disarming and trying the double push again works.

I have the same 2 problems
i noticed the trunk starting to stick when i moved from Arizona to the east coast. exactly what you said, it's like when you pop the hood. i then noticed the issue with the passanger door. sometimes it works and othertimes no. i wonder if the problems are related.

I had the same problem with the hatch not releasing. I took it back to the dealer and they replaced the release mechanism. I still have problems with it releasing when the outside temperature is lower than around 35 degrees. I haven't had problems since it has warmed up (I live in the Dallas area). Also, there is no difference if I use the remote or the release above the tag.

I took my car to the dealer yesterday and they said that there is nothing they can do as one of the properties of rubber is to expand and contract based on temperature. They feel the rubber strip is the problem and not the mechanesim itself. I insist that it is the cold weather that affects it. I put a small dab of pure silicon on the latch and rubber strip today and so far it seems to be working great
