Question Part description: Switch Assy Neu. What is it?

I went to the dealer to take a look at my car since it was throwing a SES light. I thought it might have been the gas cap, but it was some switch or something for the gearing. They determined it was a Switch Assyembly Neurtral or Unit or something. Anyone know what it is? My SES light was cleared when I got the car and the part is on special order. I don't know if they are pulling my leg or what. Car drives fine. Part number is 32006-6j000 if anyone cares.

It is the neutral safety switch. On your car, it prevents you from being able to start the car unless you have the clutch pedal pressed. If it was bad, you should not have been able to start your car. The SES light? No idea why that would do it if you could start it.

Thanks! I noticed my cruise control is also not working anymore...nor my reverse lights. Got to get those checked out now.

Edit: 07/09. Got SES light today while cruzing. Went to Advanced Auto Parts to have them read the code. Turns out ot be the same issue. Talked to the guy and he indicated my issues are linked up to this assembly unit.
