Ok, I don't know who all knows, but recently my Z was wrecked.. i'm finally getting it back, but today i got a good view while it's being reassembled of where the front airbag sensor near the bumper is... in my accident, the metal bumper sheered the wires right off the bottom of the sensor, and the bags did NOT deploy, and i come to find out, there's only 1 sensor in the front, the other 2 are further back, and yet the other person's car, the bags did deploy.. do you think this is a design flaw that should be presented to nissan? or am i over analyzing? everyone that's seen the pics of the car from the wreck, have been surprised they didn't deploy, and now we know why.. sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, i was taking a stab at it...
Thanks
Thanks
I've repaired a ton of salvaged cars. You're over-thinking the system. It's a mechanical/electrical system (that's oversimplified), so it just reacts within it's peramaters. I've repaired cars that were hit quite hard on the front but the bags didn't deploy because the car they hit was moving at a just slightly slower speed than they were! Makes no sense, but that's how they can be! I have seen weird impact or odd direction impacts do exactly what you're describing.
