I had the same problem I yanked the cd out with some needle nose pliers and guess what? It was broken for good! I went to Nissan and got a quote on a CD player and it was like 600 bucks! I went on the forums and found a dude that gave me his for FREE!!!!!!!

Yeah you can have serious problems with burned CD's if you don't "finalize" the CD using your burning software.

Good luck getting it fixed, are there any other dealers you can take it to?

What year is your z. I have an 06 non bose head unit in my trunk right now. I just had a alpine iva-d310 installed yesterday. If you have an 06 it should be under warranty but if it is not then it is yours...

this is year 2005, I appriciate all the feedback and comments. i'll try to myster idea of inserting another cd to push it all the way back. and hopefully i'll eject otherwise im dead. the dealership said that "youre not suppose to use burn cd on you 350z according to manual" anyone agree with this? thats why warranty wouldn't cover it coz its a burn cd!!!

We have a lot of people come into the stereo shop I work PT at asking to have OEM radios repaired. This is the company we work with if a customer insists on keeping their radio:
http://www.hrautoradio.com/service.htm

you have to basically:
pay to have the radio removed
Pay to ship it
Pay the repair bill (more than replacing with an aftermarket headunit most of the time)
Pay the return shipping
Pay to have it reinstalled

The total bill for this can often exceed $800.00
When faced with that bill most people opt for the aftermarket headunit

This is the reason why the CDs that he uses must be the Audio ones that say CD Digital Audio Recordable, those are the ones that work the best in anything, the other ones that only say CD Recordable only work good in the computers...

the dealer is lying- the owners manual sez only that CD-R may not work properly- it does not say that using one voids your warranty- (pg 4-12) dealer is full of crap

Allong with the idea of finalizing the CD you might want to try picking up some of the gold Memorex CDs from Office Depot or Office Max that say "CD Digital Audio Recordable" they are the ones that work the best...

Without any particular first hand knowledge on the topic, something similar happened when I had the Mazda6... what I did: I tried to eject the disc without starting the car at all. I think that the stereo will allow you to eject/load a CD but will not play when the car is off on the Z too. The disc came out without a problem then, and the head unit was not damaged.

Good luck!
C.

It's not the format of the CD. The same thing happened to mine on a "store bought" CD.

Thanks for all the reply i fixed my cd problem!!! solution: if the cd is stuck then get another cd. look for the stuck cd put the new cd underneath the stuck cd, push the new cd in midway then slowly push it up...now they pulling it and the stuck cd should go with it!!!

this is what i did and it worked! but still i tried putting in real cd but i dont think it works. i dont wanna push it because it might get stuck again.

if you put a cd, the cd player should grab it right???

I believe the CDs are stored under the passenger side dash area.

Maybe you can open up the dash and figure something out.

Here are instructions how to open the dash.
