Default battery/key/?? problem

So about a week ago my car wouldn't start on a cold night. I drive it about once or twice a week so I attributed it to the cold weather. A couple days later it worked one day and I decided to get the battery checked. The technicians said that it was a bad battery and I got a new one. I drove home and then to and from soccer two nights later. The following day the car, again, would not start. I was pissed at this point because I had to pick up my girlfriend from the airport. So today I had it towed by AAA to the nearest dealership and they are saying that it's something with the computer and I need to have all my keys reprogrammed in correlation with the new battery. I find this really puzzling since it worked a few times after the battery was replaced. I'm bringing my extra keys tomorrow to be reprogrammed. I'm kind of worried that there's an underlying problem. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Am I being paranoid (I don't know much about cars)? I just feel like this might be an expensive BS answer on their part which might result in me stranded somewhere in the near future. Again, any advice or reasoning would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There have been some problems with the electronic keys and intermittant starting problems.

But is has nothing to do with your new battery!

But, in typical "I have no clue about your car" fashion. Nissan will be hard headed about it and make you pay to get those keys fixed.
