Default WIND NOISE/HATCH RELEASE problems

Problem 1: My 2003 Touring has wind noise on passenger side. The window does let down and go back up when the door is opened--but I still have seepage. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you or dealer do to solve the problem?

Problem 2: When I hit the electronic hatch release it opens, but does not release the hatch until I lift on it and hit the release a second time. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you or dealer do to solve the problem?

problem 1 - could be a bad body seal. put some tape over it at different areas of the seal see if that helps it. if it does, replace the body seal.

problem 2- consult your dealer for TSB's on this problem. Also you can try adjusting the rubber stoppers on both sides of the car under your trunk lid. They screw up/down. This problem was mostly *****ed about when the car wasn't on a level surface.

hope this helps...

derekinthez,,,,do a search on the hatch not opening,,,,,,,I read on the site,,,there were people who adjusted those release springs by screwing them out,,placing a two pennies into the spring cylinder,,pushing it back together,,,then screwing them back into the hatch location....I think the pennies give the spring more "spring" and allows your hatch to pop open futher,...in return,,,no need to press the release button the second time....

Everyone was raving about how cheap this "fix" was and it seemed to work like a charm..... Again,,see if you can locate it in the search here....it might save you a trip to the dealership and all that hassle...

I think they were saying,,,it took all of maybe five mints to fix it.
I hope this helps...good luck

Heh, did you see my post? They just released a TSB and the dealership can order longer bumps for you. Fix takes about 2 minutes once they have the parts.

Do a search and you'll find the TSB I bet, somebody else posted it before I did.

Thanks for all the input, you guys are so helpful.
