I'm and idiot and parked too close to a side parking spot and on my way out scraped the door panel on the curb. It looks like a lot of light white scratches but only a few deeper ones. Is there any recommended way of cleaning it then maybe buffing out the light scratches or should I bring it to a body shop instead?

 

You could always do what you just said. Clean it and buff it out. If you don't like it after that, take it in and have an expert look at it.
