Well just dropped off the Z at the dealer for the 3rd gear grinding. My tranny is so F*CKED that sometimes it wont go into third at all. Anyways, I'll know more tomorrow. Today they are just duplicating the problem. Shouldn't be too hard since it grinds everytime no matter how you drive it. At least I got a loaner(altima) and the service guys were cool. For those with the same problem, I'll keep you updated.

 

Just got off the phone with my service advisor and it looks like I'm getting a new tranny and clevis pin. Only problem is the tranny is on backorder. So I have to pick up my Z later today and drive on a busted tranny till the new one gets in. My service advisor said that he talked to Nissan Tech and Nissan Tech said that they don't want the dealer to touch the tranny and just to replace the whole thing. Thats all I got for now, guess I'll update you guys when the new tranny gets in.

 

What's your VIN range and build date, btw? Thanks.

 

I got a new tranny, but then about 2 months later, problem came back. My dealer spoke to the tech line, and theyre going to try something else, i dont know exactly what yet.

 

Man that sucks, I hope that doesn't happen to me. Maybe since the trannies are on backorder they already found a solution. I know there are a couple of people with the same problem. I think I am going to start a new thread asking, who is on their second tranny.
