Default Windshield Washer Fluid Bottle Cap

I got my 60k miles maintenance done recently. After washing the car, I decided to detail the engine bay (which I haven't done in a while). I found quite a few things wrong but one of them included that the cap on the windshield wiper bottle was no longer secured (with that plastic piece that was attached to it). Seemed like someone snapped it off and put the cap on by itself. The thing is the service person at the dealership was trying to tell me that the plastic look like it corroded. I'm thinking to myself, no freakin' way. They are supposed to make those plastics durable enough to deal with high temp.

I've had my car for over 4 years. Could someone that's had their car for a while verify that their windshield washer cap is attached to the bottle?

Thanks.

^^yes it is. there is a little tab with a hole in it that attaches to a small nub on the reservoir. I've pulled mine off before to clean it. It snaps right back on. BTW, my car is 4 years old also.

vo7848. Thanks for checking for me. I hate it when the dealership tries to pass the blame. Especially since I take my car there for everything.

Thanks once again.

Mine was fine last time i filled it and now the tab that secures it to the bottle is half broken. No one has touched it. Just the Texas summer heat I guess. I expect it to be completely broken next time and then I'll just cut off all the tab stuff so it doesn't appear to be broken, just "modified" lol. Old thread but what the hey

holy crap you must have a lot of bugs down south... I just drain & refilled the reservoir with some deicer fluid and it can hold up more than 1 Gallon (3.8 liter)!!!!
