Default HELP! Transmission problems!

ok, here's the deal. i have a touring 6MT with 88k on original clutch and trans.... i burned the clutch on accident last night. not anyworse than i have before, oh well, not a big deal, it just stinks... so i go on fine. this morning im heading to work and notice the transmission seems to be "slipping" when i pull into traffic. oh crap. some times it would just sit in neutral and not let me put it in gear. so i limp home. by the time i get home when i put it in third gear there is nothing there at all. i have never had a grind or anything like that.

do you all think it is a transmission prob(third gear)

or clutch

or both?

i cant get a hold of my friend at the dealer to talk to him about it today so i will have to wait until tom... i just want to get some opinions since i have no warranty and this is going to cost me big...

the bad part is that i am trying to sell it.

If you're accelerating and the rpm's continue to climb while the car feels like it's in neutral, then yes I would say your clutch is cooked. Plus the fact that you burnt the clutch the night before, therefore it probably isn't your transmission. Time to upgrade to an aftermarket clutch kit and lw flywheel.

Thanks for the reply. I put the car in 3rd while turned off. And could roll it. Everyother gear is fine. That's why I think that my trans is shot

But what is it like to drive the car, does every gear work except 3rd? For example accelerating in first and second is fine, however when you select third gear and try to accelerate the car feels like it's in neutral? Or does the transmission "slip" in all the gears and third is the worst? Sorry for all the questions just trying to understand you problem better.
