MPG Guage Problem?
Hey, its my second week with the 07 Z, and refilled 2-3 days ago. I reset my MPG calculator and now am at 15.6 MPG at maybe 1/2 tank.
Now after searching the forum, i've been reading how the gas guage is random at best, but generally just inaccurate. I've seen similar results with the MPG Guage, as I usually start my morning commute watching the guage dip down .5 gallon, and slowly raise as I drive.
As a new owner, i'm obviously **** about any problems, but is this normal? 15-16 MPG off the guage during my break-in period worries me slightly. My shifts are nowhere past 3.5, and break-in period generally equals more careful driving. But maybe I should give a shot at calculating it manually?
Your thoughts?

It's not going to be accurate to 3 or 5 decimal places. It's based on a rough estimate of fuel consumption and miles traveled which is reasonably accurate.
My gas gauge isn't random at all. Not sure why you think they all would be.
If you must have the MPG be really, really accurate, then manually is the only way to calculate it.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood my comment, I didn't mean to generalize all gas guages to be inaccurate. I did base it off of this thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ight=gas+guage
But now that you clarified how it does calculate it, I guess it is within a reasonable range of where my MPG is supposed to be. My question is still, however, whether 16 MPG after city driving and around half a tank of gas used is normal.
Thanks for your input.
