Default weird problem with z..windows rolling down itself

ok guys so today I was driving on the highway going about 80ish and my windows randomly rolled down on my car..

first i was liek wtf maybe i press the button on accident..so then i tried rolling them up and no luck...

so than they ewnt up and than they kept randomly coming down on their own..and than after a while they were down and could not get them up..

i have a 05 ZR..

anyone ever encounter that?

either the car is haunted lol or its wired by someone thats ****ing with me hah

My car did that to while I was home on leave. I remember something about a window modulator or something. Might have to take it in to have it replaced.

Next time...SEARCH....please....

But since I made your exact mistake once, i will help =) Take it to the dealer the window motor is fukced. Hope you still have a warranty on it otherwise it will cost you a pretty penny. Best to get the passenger side checked out as well since you will be there.

And no matter wtf those dealer bastards say about how long it will take to fix it timewise, just prepare for an extra day. If they say it will take 1 day, prepare for 2. Thats how I learned. And THOROUGHLY inspect the Z, inside AND outside for ANY damage BEFORE you drive off their property. I also got fukced because I didnt expect them to fukc up my bumper when all they had to do was replace my window motor....sigh....

Your good with warranty then. Are the windows still down or did you rig them to stay up?

In the meantime put your window lock on for the passenger side. It helps even if you dont think so lol and yes the stealership is the safest/best thing you can do

well, if it does go down and doesn't want to come back up you can hit the door towards the bottom, left and it usually comes back up..unless the motor is completely shot.

Don't be surprised if your window(s) are down when you wake up in the morning.

I put the window lock on and held the window button in the up position for like 15-20 sec and it would work. It takes a little patience.

I need to have someone take my car in, I think it sout of warranty though. Maybe they will still fix it.

mine was out of warranty recently and I did the fix that someone posted up. I cleaned the motor with contact cleaner and it's been fine for weeks. I will try to find the link and post it.

Just so you know, I took my car to the stealership and they wanted 534 dollars to replace my passenger motor. I got it working for free and it only took about 1/2 hour if that.

here is the thread with the fix..

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....t=window+motor

OP, if it's under warranty I would definitely take it in and have the fix it instead of dealing with the above fix.
