Unhappy HELP. Trans problem

Ok so i was about to race my friend and i took off in 1st and when i shifted into second it did not go into gear.

as i pushed down my clutch peddle in and then out it went into neutral or as i thought... when i relased the clutch it grabbed as if in a gear.

then i came to the upcoming light and i tried to take off in 1st but the clutch did not grab

so i turned the car off and then back on put it into 1st again and it took off.
then i shifted into 3rd afraid of shifting into 2nd because it gets stuck, in that as if gear feeling and i have the whole neutral thing again (in a gear feeling)

but to get out of that i have to shift into 1st
then to 3rd to get it going

is my clutch gone? i kinda dont think so because i didnt smell any or much of it.

i think it might be my trans,
before this happen my 5th grind shift would grind if i tried shifting any kinda of fast and even if i shifted slow into 5th it would grind at times.

and hasn't felt smooth since i got into a accident damaging my right side suspension of my car. (both front and rear)

can anyone help with any thoughts of what might be wrong?

update:

well now it seems to get stuck if i use either 1st or 2nd gear.

it seems to get stuck into 1st, however the shifter is able to be moved from 1st gear to neutral to 2nd and very easy

the only way to get it out of this 1st gear funk is to stop the car and start from 3rd.

yeah, sounds like it is starting to fail... and going out fast. That's usually the way it works. A consistent grind in one of the gears and then each gear starts dropping out 1 by 1. Usually people's 3rd gear goes out first which makes it ok to drive, but yeah tranny fuqored most likely.

Usually they will recommend that you replace the clutch assembly while the transmission is out. Check your bill if you see a clutch assembly charged to your bill then yes they replaced it, if not then you missed out on a good opportunity to replace your clutch.

That's pedal, not peddle--unless you're selling something, dude!
