Default Nissan 350z cd player not working

I got a 2005 Nissan 350z, I just bought it a few days ago. Cd player was working perfectly, but now only the power, volume, eject and low buttons will work. The CD players when i put it in perfectly, but I cant change the tracks or nothing like that or modify the bass, because the buttons are not responding.

Anyone know what this is ??

my electrician said that nissan cd players usually do this because when just a lil bit of dust gets in it, it effects it... also cold weather.... the cars been sitting in dust for a few months so that could be it, and its pretty cold here...... i dont think i can warranty it because this had a rear accident involving the back bumper and rebar so its marked rebuilt

The Nissan/Infiniti stereo decks have all kinds of problems from what i've heard. My CD player skips like crazy when its cold but works fine when its warm. I'd just replace it with an aftermarket unit if you cant warranty it.

+1, same here i got so frustrated and stick a knife in there with tape got it out and now i can't even put a cd back in. I bought a Kensington FM transmitter (buy.com) works good on every mp3 player.

Mine broke this morning (CD player stopped working with that stupid error message). I used a cd cleaning disc, with a little bit of windex on it. After a couple of passes everything started to work again. =)
