Alright this a long shot but

For the past couple of weeks I've noticed a small drop of fluid leaking from the hole in the heat shielding under the car about a 1.5 feet from the differential. (see pic) At first I though it could possibly be differential fluid as thats the close to fluid source. I also started noticing it shortly after changing my diff fluid to the correct motul type. (I have a nismo lsd and 3.9fd)

I can't find any evidence of a leak anywhere. I spent a good hour underneath the car and found nothing other than that one drop. The fluid is definitely some sort of oil substance but does not have a strong smell.It's a very small amount.

I got a new set of gaskets for the fill plug from the dealership today and will check the diff fluid level this weekend to rule out a diff leak.

I was just wondering if anyone else had any leads to go on?

could it possible just be some splash from when you changed your diff fluid? or does it keep appearing?

 

I don't think so.

It keeps reappearing so its definitely dripping out of that hole.

 

hey I just did my quaife lsd and 4.08 final drive the other day and I found out differential oil leaking too..
My leak is near the differential and the driver side exhaust though.. im thinking that it might be overfilled but not sure
