Well to start off, I normally dont drive on the freeway so I dont no how long my car has been doing this. I was doing about 80 on the freeway with cruise on. The car would do fine keeping the same speed going up the hills like it should but it was when I went down hill I had the problem. The hills drove threw were pretty steep. When going down the steep hills it would feel like the brakes were kicking on and then the car would speed up again and it would do it really fast. It would keep doing it until I turned cruise off. Do our cars have a brake assist with cruise? Has anyone else had a problem like this? Thanks

Sounds reasonable. I do not know how complicated the cruise control computer is, but it will brake downhill. Unlike a person, cruise control cannot "see" ahead. So it may be accelerating downhill or even braking uphill.
