Default Acceleration Problem

I have an issue with my 03 16,000 miles. The acceleration isn't smooth when the accelerator pedal is punched to floor. The car will bounce in and out and lag, no power band. It is almost as if it seems the tps is off or there is a lag between the gas pedal and throttle body somewhere. Sometimes when I punch the accelerator the car will respond instantly other times not a damn thing. I tried a few things. Swapped the mass air meter out and same issue. I reset the ecu and same issue. No check engine light or anything.

MODS:
10w30 mobil one, Lucas octane booster, megan test pipes and intense motorsports y pipe, magnaflow catback, aem cold air intake, helix throttle body spacer, motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, competition clutch flywheel and clutch. All mods have less than 3,000 miles on them.

I'm really starting to get pissed because a focus can beat me! I believe there lies an issue with the throttle or something. Any suggestions before I go to the stealership. It's expensive here in NJ!

Do you have VDC enabled or traction control? I've noticed this will randomly cut power through 1st and 2nd gear for me if I launch the car causing "bouncy" acceleration that feels like **** and slows me down. As soon as I disable VDC my acceleration is smooth.

Ok, well I installed a bypass valve from aem, cleaned the mass air meter and noticed when I had installed the AEM cold air intake I turned the mass air meter plug pointing in towards the motor where it should have plug facing the strut tower! Therefor it was reading upside down! I took it for a ride and a huge difference. Car is back to normal and pulls like a ****! It probably will take a few miles for the ecu to reset as well.

Haha you fail. :P

Now throw out that CAI and get an 06 stock airbox or a Popcharger if you demand the "look" of modification.

Try a 20-oz bottle of TECHRON ('bout $1O.OO)...YOU'LL LOVE IT. Great for fuel injectors, combustion chamber, intake valves, the whole nine yards! Reduces/prevents carbon build-up. I use it every three to five thousand miles,
depending on the kinda driving (i.e. mostly city or mostly highway?) to keep the monZter's motor in fine tune. Good luck!

+1 The throttle body is a pretty common fix between Z's and G's and you sound like you have the symptoms of it...
