Default Brake Fluid

I searched for a while and found a couple of things but I still want to ask.The owners manual and Service Manual says to use dot 3, is it ok to use dot 4 (like Motul RBF 600?).* Also what fluid would you recommend for the clutch?

yes it is ok to use dot 4. I use ATE super blue for the brakes and the Motul RBF600 in the clutch.

+1 minus the motul clutch juice. You are supposed to change out the fluids approx every 12-18 months, possibly more often if you are in a high humidity area. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, it absorbs water even the good stuff.

The good stuff more so than others, I would say if you run motul, superblue, etc. you have to be on top of the flushing/changing regimen.

Yea, I change out my clutch fluid and brake fluid (both motul rbf600) once a year. I might try the Amsoil dot4 next time.

I used 2 1/2 big bottles for my brakes, not sure on clutch. I'd say 4 liters to be safe?

Castrol SRF went in when I installed new brake lines on my '03 track model. No complaints at all.
