SES light?

I had my cam position sensor go out which show the same symptoms IIRC. Don't recall it backfiring but my car did die and take a while to start.

your crank or cam sensor(s) will cause that problem.

Cam sensors are on the back of the motor near the valve cover in the back. I think you have to take the intake to see it but you definitely do to take it off. The passenger side may be a little bit easier to get to.

The crankshaft pos. sensor is under the car on the driver side. It's somewhere around the rear of the motor and transmission since it's reading from the flywheel.
