Default Optimal clearance height to work under car?

Hi, im planning on going under the car to do some work, and was wondering what height you guys work at, if using jack and jack stands? I have attempted to use the oem jack, but i think it's too low, couldnt even get down there. Is a jack with 16" lift height enough? Im lowered 1"F and 1.2"R.

if your lowered like that best thing is to drive onto some boards to raise it up to get the jack underneath it. also about how high to be is basically anything you want or just enough room where you can move around
