Taking car out of storage question "car wont start"
Hi guys, i stored my 350z this winter in my garage, it has not been used in oh probably 4 months now. I read the thread in the sticky on how to prepare it but i could not find anything on how to take it out of storage. The car currently wont start which i figured would happen. Is it simply because the battery needs to be jumped or charged? The car clicks has slight battery info and leds but wont turn over, just clicks and kinda whines. First time ive tried taking a car out of storage so ir newb. Thanks I just Want to make sure this is all i should do. I plan to immediately take it to my mechanic friends shop to change oil, tranny fluid and such.
clicking noise=USUALLY battery,
there won't be enough power to turn the starter. Here is the simple way to check if the battery is discharged: Turn the ignition on, with the engine off, switch the windshield wipers on. If they move way too slowly, much slower than usual, the battery is probably discharged.
If the battery is relatively new, all you need to do is to boost your car and let the engine run for a while to charge the battery.
or the starter, gl

if the battery turns out to be the cause, you will need to let it run a few minutes to charge the battery back up. Then it should be fine to drive to your mechanic. if the wipers and headlights etc. seem normal, then the starter is the next suspect
If it was running and starting when you stored it and it will not start now . Its a 99 % chance its a dead battery . Charge it and you are good to go . You might need a new battery though . Next year get a battery tender and you'll have longer battery life
