Exclamation Possible rearend (lsd) leak???

Hey Guys,

Just went to the track a couple days ago and during my runs I suffered from major wheel hop. Well during a hard launch at the track, I heard a loud pop!...like something broke...I looked under the car and didnt see any leaks or pieces of metal....

so after the run I jacked the car up and noticed that the diff housing had an oil leak...this oil leak was from the top back (where the diff mount is). It was a black oil. Does the z33 viscous lsd have a vent on the diff housing? if so would it be located on top near the diff mount? if so then does it vent oil out when hot? (what a toyota technician told me, who was at the track)

Does the diff bushing have oil inside of it? It seems to be comming from the diff busing or that area.

After jacking the car up a couple of days later, there is no leak but dry oil on the diff housing and on my exhaust pipes.

Has anybody noticed this? if so please let me know if the leak is ok or not.

Another question:

When driving around 70 - 80 mph and I downshift to 3rd, I hear a squeal....it sounds like a a belt squeking....it is only brief and happens during the intial downshift....Are my belts slipping due to the instant increased rpm? if so do need to replace my belts and which one?

replies would be apprecieated....

Its the diff mount up top, time to call SPL and put in a solid one.

could be a result from the broken bushing. i have a feeling it will resolve with a new one.
