Default Horrible metal on metal sound comming fron right front end. Ahhh!

I have a metal on metal sound coming from my right front end on my 2003 350z performance edition with 45,000 miles.

It is not the brakes because they are fresh, pads and rotors. I have replaced the wheel bearing as well. It is not the thin metal gaurd rubbing behind the rotor because i have check it thoroughly, it is straight with no debris lodged.

When i was reassembling the brake components i noticed that i can rotate the rotor with and it feels and sounds normal with no load on a jack.

I also noticed that the arm that connects the spindle assembly is loose at the point where it is connected to the frame. I have attached an image of the suspension assembly for reference.

Please observe the circled 12 above center in the image, now look directly below it. That is the arm i speak of. Follow it up to the left and see the nut and bolt that holds it in to place. That is what is loose. It gives the whole assemble play. The left side does not have this play.

It almost seems that it is missing a bushing or a bearing or the holes are to large for the bolt.

I had ran my z into a curb last summer and had it repaired by the local dealership. I had driven about 8000 miles with no issues or sounds. Could this loose connection point be causing me so much grief? Is there something missing? Perhaps they forgot to install something here. I'm not sure how this could cause a metal on metal sound but its the best i have to go on right now. This is very frustrating.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Scott

I had something similar happen but it turned out to be a small pebble stuck between the caliper and the rotor. Try driving in reverse to see if it goes away?

might not hurt to check but after doing my brakes i didnt tighten one of the two bolts that hold the caliper. so the caliper was resting on the rotor and it was making that metal on metal sound.

If there are fresh pad and rotors I'd suspect something went wrong with the install. Go over everything from top to bottom and retrace all steps.
