Default Help!! Rev can't get higher than 1800rpm

Ok I know I shouldn't leave my Z in the garage for amost 2 & half month, but I did. because I was away. so this morning when I tried to start my Z. weird things happened. the car did start, but check engine light is on, ok then the vdc light is on, too. and no matter how hard i pushed the vdc button the light just stays there. also the oil light is on, too. then I thought, maybe it's just need warm up a bit. but after 3 mins, when I tried to drive it out of the garage, I found no matter how hard I kicked the throttle, the rev won't go up, well, maybe a little bit like 1800rpm and when I try to make the car move at the first gear my Z stops, because I can't get the rev up at all. I restarted engine for 3 times and it just happens everytime. now I've checked the forum about limp mode, but looks like re start the engine will make it goes back to normal for at least a little bit.

Some one know what's happening to my car now?????? Help!!!!!

BTY, My Z is an 06 GT modle (MT).

If the oil light is on, DO NOT START THE CAR. Check/Change the car now.

If your oil light is on and your car was running for 3 mins there might be really bad news in the future for you.

for some reason the cars computer is in "limp mode". search that term on this site and you'll find more info. need to reset the ECU and should take care of the issue.

What do u mean of the "bad news". I changed my oil before I was away, and I am pretty sure my Z has no leaking problem.

I have a 2005 350z coupe with alloy rims. a cool air intake and duel exhaust. when i drive in the rain the car shakes and when i rev the engine it sounds muffled and does not exceed 2500 rpm. when i pull under a place with no rain and park for five or ten minutes and let the water dry a bit or let the water pour out of the car it will turn on and run perfectly. there are no other problems. it happens when im driving and when i go like 25 in 5th gear or higher it drives good. everything else works perfectly. it only has 47,000 miles on it. what could be the problem. i think some how water is going into the engine. any solutions or ideas???

I know this is a stupid question, but can someone tell me that if i unplug the battery for 20 mins or a day or so, will the ecu goes back to the original mode? I mean like when I first got my Z. if so then I think I will try it and see if it will make some different.
and last time when I checked the volt meter, I still have about 12-13 volt, so I guess it's not the battery's problem.

can someone help me out here!!!!!!!

Do you have a lame cold-air intake that sits near the ground?

You need to do a full ECU reset.

http://www.technosquareinc.com/350reset.htm

Also, check your dipstick. Hopefully you put the right amount of oil in before you went "away".

I know this is a little bit off topic, but I live in Taiwan now. In here Nissan doesn't sell the any MT version Zs and there's no more than 500 Zs in taiwan. so when this problem happened, I phoned the factory and none of them can tell me what to do, and their suggestion now is wait for their phone call. If they can or find a way to slove this problem they will phone me. Can't say anthing to them because I brought the car back last year from Canada. But just can't believe that Nissan Taiwan know's nothing about the Z. So I guess this fourm is my only help.

Disconnect the battery and press the brake pedal about 4 or 5 times, this is how I reset my ECU last weekend. NO need to turn off & on multiple times.

for disconnecting my battery, I have a pretty idiot question here. for the positive side. where do I loss the screw? because it has 3 screws on the positive charge. Sorry, never laid my hands on my car, but there's always something u got to try, right? I guess from now on, if I am still living in this island I will have to do everything by myself. Which might not be a bad thing. as long as I have this fourm here to help me.

there should be only one screw the uses tension to hold the cable to the post. That is what you should be unloosening. But in that case you are better off going the other way if you don't know how to disconnect the battery. If you have a manual, then do all of the steps just leave your foot off the clutch and your car will turn on but not start when switching to the on position. Don't touch the clutch until your ready to start the car.

Always disconnect negative terminal first. Its a precaution so if you are doing the positive first, you dont slip and hit the frame and ground it. Then you might have biggere problems.

The positive charge I see is pretty complicated, it has a metal plate connecting with the battery, I don't know how to explain, so I will try to post up a pick so that someone can teach me how to do this. Thanks.

LOLOLOL. Oh man, you are funny.

Btw, you dont need to take both wires off. If you take off just the ground (black or -), it will do the same thing.
