car died while rolling 80 on freeway...help..
hey guys..
so i was going 80 mph on freeway then my rpm just shut to zero...
so i just had to get off nearest exit while my car was still rolling...
i thought it was battery.. but no.. it doesn't seem like it..
it just cranks cranks cranks cranks cranks.. but does not start..
i've tried to look for similar problems in the forum but did not see any car just die while driving...
can anyone give me insight as to what is wrong with my car ASAP?
thanks in advance..
p.s. it's at a dealership and they are trying to diagnose it, but thought it be better for me to know whatsup before they try to pull some bs on me..

I once had this happen to me in another car, it turned out to be the fuel pump.
Was there any weird noises? pop? crunch.
When my fuel pump went out, there wasn't much noise, it just turned off.

my guess is that if you did not hear (at that loud speed) anything make a loud noise or vibration it should be something simple, fuel or electrical. Which i would again guess is not that big of an issue compared to internals. Sorry to hear, hope to hear what the diagnosis is so we know if it happens to us.
thanks guys.
and yeah, it was a damn fuse that blew that controlled the fuel whatever.
that's what the dealer told me.
it's all running good now.
but a 100 bux for a damn fuse. god...
oh well, i'm glad it wasn't something bigger of a problem!
thanks a million!!

OH SNAP I JUST READ THE POSTS AFTER THE OP, AND YOU PAID 100 FOR A FUSE? that thing better have been impossible to get to. never heard of that fuse blowing either, but good thing it wasnt something like a fuel pump or worse!
yeah. what a bummer..
i felt sad i spent 100 on a damn fuse
but that was my only way out as my car just died 50 miles away from my place.. i had to leave my car at the dealer at 4am in the morning...
so... oh well...
hope it never happens ever again!!!!!!

the real problem is that such a fuse should have never blown in the 1st place without a more serious issue.
Most likely it will happen again, since nothing was actually fixed.

+1 Might be a shorted wire somewhere, you wouldnt think a dealer would just replace a fuse and not troubleshoot it. Then again there referred to as "stealerships".
