Default clutch and flywheel

ok, for those with manual tranny's. I pulled my clutch after 62k and if this is you then maybe some advice and stuff to look at. The stock flywheel is a poor design originally designed for tractors, it has a damper in it that uses springs as a shock absorber if you wheel. The problem is heat, It scortches the flywheel with this give and you'll find yourself pulling the tranny if you drive like I do. I am going back in with either a fidanza or ACT streelight flywheel and he NZD1-HDSS ACT clutch kit. Hoping to aoid this problem again for awhile.. Any inputs or experiences dealing with this would be nice....

Default Would love to hear more as well...bump!

Bump

I also need to do a full replacement it seems, after only 21K miles on my 2006 Z (I am the original owner). Would love to get good advice on middle of the line suggestions on what to buy to fix the crappy clutch and flywheel the Nissan guys put in there (how incredibly disappointing). Thanks,

Disagree. The OEM clutch-flywheel is suitable for 90 percent of drivers. Its a good performance-comfort compromise. I will also give a thumbs-up for OEM clutch reliability: https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...-flywheel.html

Maybe everyone on here that is having to change there clutch b4 30k is not in that 90%. It's probably fine if you're driving up and down the interstate but if you stand in it it's not gonna hold up. I could smell mine every time I drove it hard. Anyone doing the clutch job just research, a stock clutch is about $700 plus flywheel that definitely will need to be replaced, don't know the price on this but if I'm gonna drop a grand it's not gonna be to put the part that failed premature. Look at ACT, Exedy, Fidanza, Tilton. Personally I'd stay away from stock other than Nismo. stay away from... Spec, JWT, F1 and all ebay specials! If it looks cheap it is!
