Default Intake manifold gasket

Hi I'm just trying to find out if anyone knows what material the stock intake manifold gasket is made from, just want to compare it to another gasket material a friend recommended to me.

Regards Micael

There nothing on the package that indicates the material composition. It looks and feels like a compressed fiber of some sort.

I can tell you somebody who might know - try Hydrazine (Tony @ Motordyne). He sells the Isothermal gasket which is a replacement for the OEM intake manifold gasket. It has lower thermal transmission properties than the OEM ones. He probably did some research on them and might know what they are made of.
